Requirements

  • Teach classes of adult students of 2 different language levels for a total of six hours.
  • Observe experienced English language teachers teaching adult classes for a total of six hours.
  • Complete four written assignments.
  • Submit a portfolio including written assignments, lesson plans and materials relating to teaching practice.

Input Sessions

Candidates have interactive training workshops with the course tutors.

Assessment

The assessment is continuous and integrated, which means that:
  • Assessment takes place throughout the course.
  • Each assessed component contributes to the overall grade.
  • Candidates are informed of their progress through oral and written feedback throughout the course. In addition, there are face-to-face tutorials with a tutor.

Due to restrictions placed by COVID 19, it is likely that our intensive Summer CELTA will be delivered fully online. We will deliver both our input sessions and teaching practice via ZOOM. You will still teach live language learners and receive support from your tutors. Your course will adhere to all of Cambridge standards of assessment and the high standards of the CELTA qualification will be the same. If the restrictions are lifted by July, we will deliver the course face to face. If the restrictions are lifted during the course, we will continue delivering the course online.
